Vid Show :: Made is UK suggested by buffyann
Vid Show :: Beyond the realm of shows suggested by buffyann
Vidding is about shows, movie. but it's also about more. Whether to make a political statement, to express a vision of something beyong the shows it used, to proclaim the love for fandom or for the universe, some vids just use the source material from shows to say something else. The show would explore those.
Vid Show :: Television (super)heroes suggested by frivvy
From Flash Gordon to the Winchesters, Danger Mouse to the Power Rangers, the small screen has given us some really wonderful characters to lose ourselves with. And maybe we can again now, whether it's a nostalgic trip down memory lane with characters from your childhood or a contemporary portrayal of your current full-on fandom.

Vid Show :: Celebrating Fandom suggested by buffyann
Panel :: The Motion Effect suggested by buffyann
How should a vid "move" ? Why ? is it necessary ? Does it apply to all vids ? How much does the music dictate the motion in the vid ?
Could be an opportunity to discuss technics to keep a vid flowing.
Could be combined with a show of vids with lots of use of movement (external or internal).
Could be a lot of things. Motion/Movement is a wide subject.

Work Shop :: Working with Aspect Ratios suggested by buffyann
Aspect Ratios are obscure sometimes (even if you've read the whole guide at animemusicvideo.org), especially working with several sources, format etc. NTSC/PAL, 16:9/4:3, exporting for online or DVD etc. The workshop could maybe give some theory on ratios and concentrate on working with ratios for distribution, DVDs/con and/or online, explaining how to resolve the "conehead" effect of squished footage ? or simply offering a demo of one or two useful software that do all the bad work for you ?
Vid Show :: Vidding History suggested by nushana
A show of some vintage vids from the pre-computer age, and maybe also a panel on how and where vidding originated, some of the earliest vidders and their work.
Panel :: Vidding Theory and Meta suggested by nushana
A humble attempt to debate some of the big questions - why do we vid, and what does it all mean? I would love to host a panel discussing the various academic theories of fandom and fanfiction, and see how they may or may not apply to vidding.
(Full disclosure: I am a studying vidding for my MA thesis, and will hopefully be conducting fieldwork at the con as well.)

Panel :: Rhythm suggested by buffyann
How to maintain the energy of a vid, avoid boring the viewer ? is it possible to make a good vid longer than 5 minutes ? This panel would explore that question.
Vid Show :: Unexpected Choices suggested by buffyann
Lots of vids focus on finding a song that fits the mood of the show, character or relationship they're adressing. What about vids that go all the opposite way and adress the show/characters/relationship in a way you wouldn't even think of. Could be a very unexpected song choice, a study of a character/relationship's aspect that is barely adressed on the show (A very dark look of a rather cheerful character for instance). The vid show would display vids that have succeeded in that area.
Vid Show :: Shiny Happy People suggested by buffyann
Since lots of vidders focus on intense and deep/dark analysis of characters/relationship, the show's goal would be to counterbalance this by offering lots of happy and pretty vids.
Panel :: Vidding Structure suggested by buffyann
Discuss how to build your story and make it work. Could be adressing different kinds of vids, Narrative, character or relationship studies, AU etc and how to structure your story.
Panel :: Vidding Methods suggested by buffyann
How do you vid ? Do you need a storyboard ? Should you just follow your instincts ? How much structuring before vidding is benefical vs. how it can mess the entire thing ? Is there methods you've come up with, with experience ? Sharing ideas on the best way to be make a success of a vid through practical methods beyond the kick ass idea.
Work Shop :: High Quality Rendering 101 suggested by mresundance
I for one am baffled about the whole process of rendering the highest quality vid possible without producing vids that are in the 100 MB + range. It might be nice to have a workshop on this - particularly avi. and non .wmv rendering. The workshop could focus on several different methods of rendering and compressing.
