Below is a list of jobs that are going to be cropping up in the production and running of Vidukon. If any of them seem like they might be for you, email me at lithiumdoll@alter-idem.com.
Needed
- Time and dedication
- Experience nice, but not necessary
- A sense of humour
Notes
- Only a few of the jobs listed require you actually be going to the Con - many of them don't even require you be in the country, which is fortunate. If you would like to help out without attending, you are made of awesome.
- You can volunteer for more than one job - a fair few of them go hand in hand, I've just separated them out in the interest of clarity.
* Graphics (web and print)
* Con book design
* Badge design
These are the people making the eye-candy - anything that needs a logo, an image or, you know, more design skill than throwing things at Photoshop to see what sticks. (Or maybe it's just me who does that).
Bringer(s) of the pretty:
* Vidshow
* ConDVD
* Tech set-up
* Tech support
The Tech Monkeys have the job pre-con of getting the DVDs burned, writing up tutorials on encoding and generally being bright sparks. During the con, your average Tech Monkey will be seen with wires, cables and possibly electrocution burns as they get the DVD players / projectors / etc working.

*
* Printer (getting the conbooks, badges and sundry printed)

Administration is possibly the hardest job in the entire world. Except for that one where you fix electric lines crossing chasms. That looks pretty hard too.
Wranglers: <lj user=buffyann> (Announcements & Volunteer Coordinator), <lj user=frivolity65> (Copy-editor), <lj user=mitchy> (Registration), <lj user=thedivinegoat> (Con-suite Coordinator, Vid Bazaar and Vid Librarian)
* Registration (pre-con)
* Scheduler
* Panel / Vid Show Chooser (polling, etc)
* Hotel Liason
* Finance / Budget control / management
These are the bigger jobs and I'll be approaching people I know (and know can work with me *g*) to help me with them. Which is nepotism of the highest order but, first con, it's a good plan.
